Treatment

Our idea is based on a peadaphile who abductes children and inflicts brutul abuse on them. So you’re probably thinking this is such a CLICHE, however it isn’t and what makes our concept so unique giving it a unique selling point i the fact that it is illustrated from the eyes of the paedophile. You are not gonging to find the protagonist fascinating but the antagonist. This works as the paedophile is being questioned and from there we are told of his child life to him committing the sin of child abuse. Finally, this is a psychological thriller presented from behind the eyes of a monster, taking our film from an average Joe to a LENGEND!
The theme is fairly straightforward of a paedophile and discovering what makes someone just as normal as everyone else turn into something so evil. It will hopefully get a mixed response from the audience, some will feel sympathy and others disgust. Either way we strongly feel it will leave the viewers with a lot to say and many questions. Finally it will question what you know and many other ethical issues.
The narrative and structure are very well ordered as the opening titles sequence is an introduction to the movie, a way to familiarise the viewers to what they have come to see. Once the intro has finished it starts with present time of with the paedophile in custody being interrogated. As the movie unfolds the narrative (peado) takes us into a flashback of his childhood to him taking the children. The epic aspect is that not only are secrets about the paedophile revealed but also the police officer.
There are two main characters the police inspector and the paedophile both who are male actors. This is because we believed they could have a different bond to a female police officer who would be very defensive towards the paedophile. The police inspector is a very well kept man who is understanding and fearless, somebody like Denzel Washington from ‘Man on fire’.
The mis-en-scene is dark and anticipating, making the viewer very uneasy and frightened. This was done to give the effect of loneliness and fear. Because remember this is all in the eyes of the paedophile. The light is mainly on low-key and the colours are all dark, dull, gloomy colour thats end chills down your spine.
The camera work is close ups and many over head shots. We did this to add to the create a atmosphere of craziness and instability, therefore also included a couple of out of shot camera angles.  It is almost shot like a documentary, the life of the child molester; as the only person that knows what he is doing every second of the day is no one but himself. The documentary style reinforces the realism to our project.
The editing is cut as a montage of separate shots cut and spliced to then be put back together. Our editing is not at all continuous but is a digital mood board of shots that eventually unravel the mystery behind the charged paedophile.
