Evaluation Activity 4: Who would be the audience for your Media Product?
He would be a memebr of our thriller openings target audience a 16 year old with good taste in movies ;)
His intrests would involve hanging out with his friends and playing football, also listening to music such as RnB, hiphop, bashment ect.
He would shop in shops like Blue Inc, JDsports, H&M &co. Also would be a oung adventurer therfore enjoy the thrill of our thriller movie; besided too young to get in too the serious horrors certified 18!
after having such a youthful personality he is likely to watch programmes such as Misfits, Eastenders, Skins and Southpark.
Evaluation Activity 2: How does you Media product represent particular social groups?
The most important and significant character in our opening was most definitely the villain (paedophile). This is because he was most featured and shown in the opening; therefore the best person to compare to him was another thriller that makes the villain the core to the story. Jeepers Creepers is a thriller that is based on a creep that like to kill be people for food, I thought that our character was similar to him because he is a mysterious intimidating character. We are aware that most definitely he is a bad character yet strangely we don’t hate him. They are also similar in the sense that what they look like is not revealed until the end and even the way they are dressed simple but strong. The long, flowy dark coat gives the impression that we are suppose to be afraid likewise in our opening which too does not reveal the paedophiles face.
However they’re also different too as our character is human which is what we really wanted and also be committing a realistic yet barbaric crime. On the other hand the Jeepers Creepers man is of course is undead and a cannibal. In addition the paedophile is not demon nor a devil worshipper but a human in need of help, however due not be mistaken he is a very tactful intelligent man who is aware of his sick actions.
Evaluation Activity 1: In what ways does your media product use. develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Frame 2
This was the location shot which we made really fuzzy and differcult to see in a bad recording effect to give again the documantary feel as well as the thriller convention. We compared it to a similar shot from the reality film 'The Blair Witch Projet' of the dark surroundings.
Frame 3
We had to use many props but we felt this was definately the one that really projected the genre as well as established our theme. They were used to make the story clear that one thing that amkes it. Like in 'Cloverfield' the police tape made the crime scene significant that is what the photographs of the children was aiming to do.
Frame 4
To highlight our effects we used the Madeline Mcann shots were the best illustration of our storyline and to get the concept across. We used the perfect timing and repeate effect to create this montage os shots. Similar to 'Unborn' where they used the effect of the twisted double jointed child. To explain the story of the child missing and dead just like ours illustrates something significant.
Frame 5
This shot is are very first shot of our 'Production logo' DarKnight productions' for our thriller. This was a very fun process to create as we were given the liberty to really get creative and explore the programme. Our production logo had a very intriguing name also reflecting the thrill in it which is what kind of genre we would like to represent. The white writing on the dark background reinforced the "dark-night"
Frame 6
This shot was one of the good shots we had as it was over the shoulder shot which is used alot in thriller as a 'creep up on character' shot. Also in the movie shot is the shot of seing the person in the skull eyes this is also a conventional shot thats why we felt it was similar to our technique of using a memerable shot.
Frame 7
This shot was to introduce the actors in a intresting format therfore had them apper in dim light to alarm the viewer which will help them remember the main actors. Just how Angelina Jolie is introduced in the blockbuster 'Wanted'. We used this strange technique to have the viewer remember the main actors and give them a large intoduction.
Frame 8
The shot of the scared girl was used to once again acknowledge the genre and shows the vulnerable. To balance the thriler we used this shot to make the audience sympathise with the children. This was inspired by the movie REC where the damsel is shown in a innocent light. This technique is used to make the viewersfeel like they can relate and have there complete attention.
Frame 9
The final shot is of the dark figure which was a important shot as this was the first full long shot of the antagonist, who is usually the most important character in a thriller. This is one the first shots we filmed as from the start and our research helped us figure that no matter how strange and mysterious your opening is there is always some kind of significance for the antagonist.
Frame 1
This is the title of our thriler "Abduction" a mysterious yet not too discrete as we still wanted our genre and concept to be recognisable. It appears on white writing against the black this was done to make the title stand out and our credits were done similarly. The timing is to be before and after the fuzzes. Also we repeat it at the end this was a technique only used by certain thrillers to give a cycle effect. Our titles and credits were inspired by ‘SEVEN’ as it is a strange thriller and we really felt our whole opening concept was similar.

Editing
This was the most important and differcult aspect to our project as a lot of hardwork and consideration had to be taken into to make our thriller opening. We persued the editing on a software called Final Cut pro on the apple macs, this was a very enjoyable process as we were given a chance to learn a set of new things aswell as being a very stressful time. This was especially tricky because as well as mastering a new programme, make a production logo on After Effects and create our titles and credits.
At first we finished the editing for por rough cut and found we did not have enough footage and some of it was too dark for us to use, therfore had to re-film.

Treatment
Our idea is based on a peadaphile who abductes children and inflicts brutul abuse on them. So you’re probably thinking this is such a CLICHE, however it isn’t and what makes our concept so unique giving it a unique selling point i the fact that it is illustrated from the eyes of the paedophile. You are not gonging to find the protagonist fascinating but the antagonist. This works as the paedophile is being questioned and from there we are told of his child life to him committing the sin of child abuse. Finally, this is a psychological thriller presented from behind the eyes of a monster, taking our film from an average Joe to a LENGEND!
The theme is fairly straightforward of a paedophile and discovering what makes someone just as normal as everyone else turn into something so evil. It will hopefully get a mixed response from the audience, some will feel sympathy and others disgust. Either way we strongly feel it will leave the viewers with a lot to say and many questions. Finally it will question what you know and many other ethical issues.
The narrative and structure are very well ordered as the opening titles sequence is an introduction to the movie, a way to familiarise the viewers to what they have come to see. Once the intro has finished it starts with present time of with the paedophile in custody being interrogated. As the movie unfolds the narrative (peado) takes us into a flashback of his childhood to him taking the children. The epic aspect is that not only are secrets about the paedophile revealed but also the police officer.
There are two main characters the police inspector and the paedophile both who are male actors. This is because we believed they could have a different bond to a female police officer who would be very defensive towards the paedophile. The police inspector is a very well kept man who is understanding and fearless, somebody like Denzel Washington from ‘Man on fire’.
The mis-en-scene is dark and anticipating, making the viewer very uneasy and frightened. This was done to give the effect of loneliness and fear. Because remember this is all in the eyes of the paedophile. The light is mainly on low-key and the colours are all dark, dull, gloomy colour thats end chills down your spine.
The camera work is close ups and many over head shots. We did this to add to the create a atmosphere of craziness and instability, therefore also included a couple of out of shot camera angles. It is almost shot like a documentary, the life of the child molester; as the only person that knows what he is doing every second of the day is no one but himself. The documentary style reinforces the realism to our project.
The editing is cut as a montage of separate shots cut and spliced to then be put back together. Our editing is not at all continuous but is a digital mood board of shots that eventually unravel the mystery behind the charged paedophile.
